Michelin Guide adds 17 food stalls in Singapore to its Bib Gourmand list


The Michelin Guide added 17 food stalls and two restaurants in Singapore to its Bib Gourmand list this week.

In total, 79 dining establishments in the city-state were named to the list, an increase from 67 last year.



The press release states that two restaurants have been added to the 2023 list. Kok Sen, which has been operating for over 50 years, offers local dishes like prawn paste chicken. The Coconut Club, on the other hand, features a menu with a coconut theme and is known for its popular nasi lemak set.

Additionally, the press release mentions 17 food stalls, many of which specialize in a single main dish. Here is a list of some of these stalls and their offerings:

  1. Beach Road Fish Head Bee Hoon - Serves sliced fish bee hoon (rice vermicelli).

  2. Du Du Shou Shi - Offers tu tu kueh (steamed rice cake).

  3. Heng Kee - Known for its curry broth, custom-made tofu puffs, and fish cakes.

  4. Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken Rice - Specializes in chicken rice sets.

  5. Kwee Heng - Offers boneless braised duck.

  6. Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee - Serves hokkien fried mee (egg noodles) with prawns.

  7. No. 18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow - Known for its kway teow noodles.

  8. Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee - Specializes in hokkien mee.

  9. Soon Huat - Offers "dry" or "soup" noodles.

  10. Tai Seng Fish Soup - Known for its fish soup.

  11. Young Chun Wan Ton Noodle - Serves springy egg noodles.

At Geylang Bahru Market and Food Center, three stalls were awarded. These include Hui Wei Chilli Ban Mee, Spinach Soup, and Cheok Kee. Michelin mentions that Cheok Kee is famous for its soy-marinated duck dish.

Additionally, three more stalls at Adam Food Center were recognized. They are Adam Rd Noo Cheng Big Prawn Noodle, Bahrakath Mutton Soup, and Selamat Datang Warong Pak Sapari, which is known for its Malay noodle dishes, according to Michelin.

The complete selection of Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore will be announced at a later date.d on June 27 at an awards ceremony.
