Background & Education

Originally from Brittany, Brieg pursued formal studies in viticulture and terroir, completing a Master’s in “Vin, Vigne et Terroir” at IUVV Dijon.
He gained valuable experience working in Beaujolais with Pierre-Marie Chermette and later in Burgundy with Jean-Louis Trapet before establishing his own domaine.

Viticultural Practice

In 2018, Brieg secured around 2 hectares of vines — primarily Gamay, with a small parcel of Chardonnay — to begin his independent project, Les Demains dans la Terre.
He farms organically, without synthetic inputs, prioritizing soil health, biodiversity, and manual vineyard work.
Brieg is also active within regional organic viticulture groups such as ARDAB (Association of Organic Producers Rhône–Loire), where he provides guidance on agronomy and natural vinification.
He collaborates with Agribio Rhône & Loire as a viticulture mission officer, working on phytotherapy and natural vineyard preparations, and contributes to projects focused on carbon sequestration and soil health among Beaujolais organic producers.

Winemaking Philosophy & Techniques

Brieg’s cellar work is intentionally minimalist. He uses spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, avoids fining and filtration, and employs little to no added sulfur.
Vinifications are handled gently, relying on gravity flow and minimal oxidation, allowing each cuvée to reflect its terroir, grape, and vintage with authenticity.
His philosophy centers on preserving purity and energy, creating wines that are alive, balanced, and deeply connected to their origin.
