Champagne Bourgeois-Diaz: Charlotte & Jérôme Bourgeois

The Alchemy of the Marne Valley

Here, where our soil of clay, silt, and limestone is nurtured by the tranquil waters of the Marne River, we believe wine is not created by chemistry, but by alchemy.

Jérôme Bourgeois-Diaz, a fourth-generation vigneron, returned to the family estate in 2001 with a vision: to elevate his family's terroir in Crouttes-sur-Marne through uncompromising natural methods. Charlotte Bourgeois-Diaz joined him in 2016, bringing her agricultural expertise and playing a vital role in overseeing the estate and developing the Champagnes’ exceptional quality.

Our Approach: Biodynamics & Purity

  • Biodynamic Oasis: Abandoning the use of all pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, our 7-hectare domain has been certified Organic and Biodynamic (Demeter-certified since 2015). We embrace the complexity of our land, acknowledging that nature is in charge, and we are merely its ward. This philosophy demands humility but delivers intense pride.

  • The Gentle Press: We employ a traditional, labor-intensive Coquard press, which draws the juice from the grapes slowly and gently—more effort, more reward.

  • Minimal Intervention: Our wines are fermented using indigenous yeasts and vinified in a mix of stainless steel, neutral oak, and concrete vessels. Our signature style is one of purity: the majority of our cuvées are Zero Dosage (Brut Nature), with sulfur use limited to the absolute minimum.

The result is a collection of Champagnes celebrated for their finesse, crystalline purity, and vibrant energy, offering an authentic, expressive taste of the Vallée de la Marne.
