A natural, bio & low-intervention wine fair in Verbier
A one-day fair at Espace St Marc, in Verbier. We created this event to give winemakers the chance to sell their wines directly to the public in December — the busiest month of the season.
The Fair — December, Espace St Marc
We are delighted to announce our first natural, bio and low-intervention wine fair, to be held one day at Espace St Marc, in the Foyer. The format is simple: each winemaker pours and sells their wines directly to the public.
Exhibitors are also invited to present older vintages, rather than being limited to the current vintage, as is the case at most fairs.
Our definition of natural, bio & low-intervention
Organic or biodynamic wines Certified organic or biodynamic, or equivalent long-standing practice.
Native yeasts & spontaneous fermentation Fermentation with native yeasts only.
Sulphites: maximum 30 mg per litre Maximum total sulphites of 30 mg per litre.
Full malolactic fermentation Malolactic fermentation carried through to completion.
Minimal filtration, low intervention Minimal filtration and low-intervention winemaking.
Why December, why Verbier
December is the busiest month of the season in Verbier, and a time when direct sales are especially valuable for small estates. It is also a genuinely open market: no wine shop, hotel or restaurant in Verbier currently sells natural, bio and low-intervention wine.
The heart of the season
December brings the largest number of visitors of the year to Verbier — the heart of the season, and a time when direct sales are essential.
“ No wine shop, hotel or restaurant in Verbier currently sells natural, bio and low-intervention wine. For winemakers, this is an open market in one of Europe’s busiest and most affluent resorts. ”
