Nino

Chito's Gvino
Martkopi · Vachnadziani · Kakheti

From Tbilisi concert halls to Kakheti qvevris. A pianist who discovered that wine, not music, better harmonized with her inner world—and founded Chito's Gvino in 2017 to prove it.

Nino Chitoshvili trained as a professional pianist in Tbilisi, but in 2010 she pivoted to wine tourism, guiding visitors through Georgia's ancient wine regions. By 2017, she buried her first qvevris in the courtyard of her Martkopi home, 30 minutes from Tbilisi. Today, she farms 3 hectares in the celebrated Mukuzani micro-zone of Vachnadziani, crafting amber and red wines that have won gold medals and international acclaim.

The Pianist

Classical Roots

Professional pianist by education, wine guide by calling. Believes that emotional response to wine better harmonizes with her inner world than music ever did.

The Vigneronne

Natural Pioneer

Member of Georgian Association of Organic Winemaking. Farms organically and biodynamically, with Vano as partner and winemaker. Son Ivan now joins the harvest.

The Qvevri Method

7-9 months buried underground in traditional clay vessels. UNESCO-recognized heritage. No cultured yeast, no filtration, no SO₂.

Ancient Georgian Tradition

All wines ferment and age in qvevri—eggs-shaped clay vessels buried in the earth. Whites get skin contact (amber wine), reds get depth and structure. This 8,000-year-old method is part of Georgia's intangible cultural heritage.
