Philine Isabelle Dienger
Monforte d’Alba, Piedmont, Italy
Originally from Germany, Philine Isabelle Dienger is a thoughtful and precise winemaker based in the Barolo region of Monforte d’Alba. After discovering wine through her work in restaurants, she shifted from academia to hands-on training at some of Europe’s top biodynamic estates—including Odinstal, Pranzegg, and Heinrich—and worked with Simonit & Sirch, the internationally renowned vineyard pruning specialists.
Philine launched her own project in 2020, guided by a philosophy that places vineyard work at the core of quality. She farms organically (uncertified) with strong biodynamic influences, prioritizing biodiversity, soil health, and meticulous pruning. Her parcels include Nebbiolo in Barolo’s 'Le Coste di Monforte', plus Dolcetto and Chardonnay in the higher-altitude Alta Langa, where cooler temperatures bring freshness and elegance.
In the cellar, she follows a minimal-intervention approach: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, no fining or filtration, and little to no added sulfur. Her wines are pure, structured, and quietly expressive—capturing the finesse of Piedmont with a contemporary, natural edge.
