Allram
Three generations of courage and loess. From Walter Allram's post-war gamble to Lorenz and Magdalena's biodynamic future—30 hectares of Kamptal's finest terroir, where Permian sandstone meets crystalline schist and 90-year-old hands still know every vine.
What began as a small farm with scattered fields was transformed in the 1950s by Walter Allram into a 12-hectare winery. In 1992, Michaela Haas-Allram took the reins with husband Erich, acquiring the legendary Heiligenstein vineyard and building a modern cellar integrated with traditional wooden barrels. Since 2015, the third generation—Lorenz (winemaker) and Magdalena—have steered the estate toward biodynamic farming, blending Wachau precision with New World energy. Walter, now 90, still walks the vineyards daily, claiming to know every vine personally. [^55^] [^40^]
Walter Allram
Founded the winery in the 1950s, converting a mixed farm into a 12-hectare vineyard. At 90 years old, still in the vineyards every day. "He claims to know every single vine personally." The original courageous character. [^55^]
Lorenz & Magdalena
Lorenz trained in Pfalz, Styria, New Zealand, South Africa and Wachau. Magdalena manages operations. Together converting 30 hectares to biodynamic farming, step by step, with "a healthy dose of perfectionism." [^49^] [^55^]
