Weingut lichti & Astroh

Weingut Lichti & Astroh is a young, artisanal winery based in Herxheim am Berg in the Palatinate (Pfalz), Germany. Founded by Freya Lichti and Alexander Strohschneider, the estate grew out of a shared project at a family winery and became an independent operation in the early 2020s.

The winery farms approximately nine to ten hectares of vineyards across limestone-influenced sites in and around Leistadt, Laumersheim, and Großkarlbach. Vineyard work follows organic principles and emphasizes soil health, biodiversity, and balanced vine growth, with the estate in the process of full organic conversion.

All grapes are hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts. In the cellar, Freya and Alexander work with a minimal-intervention approach, bottling wines unfined and unfiltered, with only low levels of sulfur when necessary. Aging takes place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and neutral oak barrels to preserve freshness while building texture and depth.

The portfolio includes a wide range of wines, from precise Riesling and Burgunder varieties to Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), as well as experimental styles such as pét-nat and skin-contact wines. Their wines are defined by clarity, energy, and a strong expression of the limestone terroir of the northern Palatinate.
