NACHBARN WINE FESTIVAL

First Austro-Moravian Wine Festival

A gathering of 20 winemakers from both sides of the border who share a similar philosophy: organically grown grapes, spontaneous fermentation, and minimal intervention. A festival of wine, dialogue, and cross-border cooperation.

When

Saturday, 1 August 2026
13:00 — 19:00

Where

Dominican Monastery
(Dominikánský klášter)
Znojmo, Czech Republic

Admission

CZK 500

The Idea

To bring together winemakers from both sides of the border who see winemaking through a similar lens. They work with organically grown grapes, ferment their musts spontaneously, and do not use any enhancers except SO₂.

Deeper Motivation

It has been almost four decades since the fall of the Iron Curtain. Despite freedom and democracy on both sides of the border, there are still topics that remain unsaid and unresolved. It is precisely the cooperation of the young generation of winemakers that can be a good start to resolving the painful points of history.
