WTF IS GOING ON ?

I just saw some geezer , making a wine video on YouTube called “The Truth About Natural Wine” — as if it’s some sort of 9/11 conspiracy. But he is a Master of Wine so i defo have to take what he says as gospel , he’ll know what i like and dislike..

I see videos like this all the time: wine critics hammering natural wine. I don’t get it — why? I never see anyone making videos complaining about conventional wine. It’s truly fucking weird.

Your allowed not to like it , just don’t order it..

I mean, I’ve never come back from tasting sake and felt the urge to make a video about how I dislike it — nor has anyone else. Whiskey? No one. Pastis? No one. Dr Pepper? No one. Guinness? No one. Porridge? No one. Weird as fuck. Are they being paid for these negative — or at best, cynical — takes?

I’ know a restuarant sitting on a pallet of natural wines — really nice ones — and they’re terrified to sell them. They say they’ll need an “expert” to handle it, out of total fear that someone who’s used to drinking natural wine might order one. Meanwhile, they’ve got Pastis, Campari, Whisky, and Malibu behind the bar. I’m still going to eat there, of course — I’ve never refused to go into a bar or restaurant just because they might have something I don’t like (or might not like).

I also saw one today where someone was pouring a bottle of Chavost Champagne down the drain — and the comments were off the scale, like a mob baying for blood at some kind of medieval public torture scene from Game of Thrones. Again, weird as fuck. you’ll never see them doing that to a non natural wine or a Dr pepper, its trendy to not like it and critise somthing they may not like, or have been told not to like..

It’s a bit like that Ricky Gervais bit about Twitter and the town square — absolute classic.

The real question is — who’s behind it, and how much money are they throwing at influencers? Or maybe they’re just retarded… or both. Who knows?

Is it big corporations, quietly trying to take control of the entire agricultural sector and food production — allegedly?

Or maybe it’s the big agrochemical companies stirring up shit. There’s a lot of money at stake, after all.

We don’t know but it is surely having a negitive affect on Natural wine..
