GLOBULE ROUGE 2020 Adrien De Mello
A magnificent blend of the two Cabernets! Cherry, raspberry, and a particularly well-integrated vegetal undertone.
Domaine de la Petite Soeur, led by the highly skilled and dynamic winemaker Adrien de Mello, is situated in St. Aubin de Luigné, Anjou. Originally from Bretagne, Adrien cultivates 4 hectares of vineyards with Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Gamay. The terroir, characterized by schist, is nurtured through Adrien's manual, organic, and biodynamic practices, often assisted by his cherished horse, Toscane.
Adrien's wines hold a special place for us, as Solfinn witnessed the pivotal moment when he decided to eliminate sulfur from his winemaking process. This transformative decision occurred during a memorable French lunch with natural wine legends Jean-Francois Chene and Sébastien Dervieux (Babass). Inspired by tasting old vintages from the renowned Hacquet Sisters, Adrien received encouragement from Chene and Babass to embrace a 100% natural approach. Since then, his wines have consistently evolved, becoming increasingly pure and clean with each passing year.
