Parade 2024 — L'Oiseau Rôdeur
Parade 2024 — L'Oiseau Rôdeur
The debut that stops traffic
The Wine
A pure, unblended expression of Savagnin from the Jura's rising stars. Parade—meaning "parade" or "procession"—announces itself with the confidence of a first impression that demands attention. This is the inaugural vintage of a wine already turning heads in natural wine circles.
In the Glass
Straw-gold with green glints. The nose is unmistakably Savagnin: quince, dried apricot, and wild fennel, with the grape's signature aromatic lift. Ten months of aging—split between 400-liter French oak barrels and stainless steel—creates a masterful equilibrium. The oak lends texture and subtle spice; the tank preserves crystalline freshness. The palate is taut and mineral, threading ripe stone fruit with a saline, almost briny finish. No oxidation here—this is Savagnin in its most crystalline, "ouillée" (topped-up) form.
The Story
2024 marks the debut of this cuvée from Marie Menoux and Thomas Rougier's young estate. Working organically across Poligny and Grozon, they press their Savagnin directly (no skin contact) and let native yeasts guide fermentation. Unfiltered, unfined, and utterly transparent—this is how L'Oiseau Rôdeur introduces themselves to the world.
Perfect For
The adventurous white wine drinker seeking beyond Chardonnay. Ideal with roasted guinea fowl, river fish in beurre blanc, or the Jura's classic pairing: comté cheese aged 18 months. Serve at 12°C in a generous glass to let the aromatics unfold.
