Marie Bourdon: Domaine de la Seia (Jura)
Marie Bourdon is part of the exciting new generation of vignerons in the Jura. After gaining experience alongside Simon in the Loire and working in the Jura, she established her own project, Domaine de la Seia, located in the northern part of the region.
Philosophy & Style
Marie’s wines are noted for their delicacy and "infusion" style. Rather than heavy extraction, she focuses on capturing the ethereal aromatics of Jura grapes. Like Simon, she works entirely without synthetic chemicals in the vineyard and without additives in the cellar.
Technical Profile
Terroir & Vineyard: Located in Port-Lesney (near Arbois). The vines are planted on Triassic marls and limestone scree, typical of the Jura’s rugged landscape.
Varietals & Vinification: She works with Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, and Pinot Noir. She often favors whole-cluster fermentation for reds and long, topping-up (ouillé) aging for whites to preserve freshness rather than the traditional oxidative style.
Notable Cuvées: La Seia (Chardonnay/Savagnin) and her various micro-parcellar expressions of Poulsard.
