Soma
VinesThe Drink of Illumination
Wine as sacred medicine. Biodynamic viticulture aligned with lunar cycles, wild fermentation as alchemy, and bottles meant for ceremony, meditation, and transcendence.
Vines
"Fermentation is the transformation of matter into spirit."
In the Rigveda, Soma was the divine drink of immortality—a ritual beverage that opened the doors of perception and connected the drinker to the cosmic order. At Soma Vines, we approach winemaking as this ancient practice: not mere agriculture, but alchemical transformation.
We farm biodynamically, treating the vineyard as a living organism where soil, vine, and cosmos intertwine. Harvests occur on fruit days during ascending moons, when the earth's energy flows upward. Fermentation happens with indigenous yeasts only—we do not inoculate, we invoke.
Our cellar is a temple of patience and observation. No temperature control, no additives, no sulfur. The wines find their own equilibrium through time and attention. Each bottle is a meditation on transformation—grape into wine, liquid into experience, matter into memory.
Elevate
Transcend
Working with celestial rhythms—root, flower, leaf, and fruit.
Following the biodynamic calendar established by Rudolf Steiner and Maria Thun, we align our work with the four elements and the lunar nodes.
Six vessels of transformation—wines for ritual and revelation.
Prana
The breath of life. Orange wine from Ribolla Gialla fermented and aged in buried Georgian qvevri for six months on skins. Honey, wildflowers, and turmeric notes. Textural, tannic, and deeply grounding. For morning meditation.
Kundalini
The coiled serpent rising. Gamay fermented entirely whole-cluster with semi-carbonic maceration. Bright ruby, explosive aromatics of incense, pomegranate, and rose petal. A wine that ascends from the root to the crown. Serve chilled.
Mantra
Repetition leading to transcendence. Chenin Blanc bottled during fermentation with ancestral method. Disgorged by hand. Cloudy, energetic, citrus and jasmine. The bubbles carry intention upward. A meditation in effervescence.
Dharma
One's righteous path. Nebbiolo with 90 days maceration on skins, then aged 3 years in old oak. Tar, rose, cherry, and time. Structured, philosophical, demanding patience. A wine for significant occasions and deep conversation.
Moksha
Liberation from the cycle. A field blend of white and red grapes co-fermented: Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir. Copper color, stone fruit, smoke, and spice. The boundary between red and white dissolves. Unity in the glass.
Samadhi
Absorption into the infinite. Botrytised Sauvignon Blanc, late harvest, naturally sweet. Honeycomb, saffron, dried apricot, and astral projection. 200g/L residual sugar balanced by piercing acidity. The end of the journey, the beginning.
