DOMAINE JULIEN MEYER

Nothalten - Alsace

Inheriting his vineyards, Patrick Meyer initially embraced conventional methods but shifted to biodynamic principles after witnessing their detrimental effects on vines and ecosystems. Today, he champions the Sylvaner grape in Alsace, producing expressive wines from well-tended soils. Around Nothalten in Bas-Rhin, diverse terroirs like Heinsenberg, Heisenstein, Muenchberg, Zellberg, and Grittermatte showcase gneiss, clay, schist, and sand. With vines at 250m altitude and a less rainy climate, resulting in slower ripening, Patrick separately vinifies parcels in his nearly 10-hectare vineyard, which encompasses all 7 Alsatian grape varieties.
