In Mercurol, nestled in the picturesque northern Rhône Valley, René-Jean Dard and François Ribo have been meticulously crafting exceptional wines since the 1980s. Their estate, gracing the landscapes of Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, and Hermitage, boasts vines rooted in granite soil, yielding outstanding reds and whites nurtured without chemical intervention. Revered for their fruity profiles, finesse, and remarkable aging potential, their wines enchant even the most discerning connoisseurs.
René-Jean Dard and François Ribo, both hailing from the Northern Rhône, crossed paths at the esteemed Lycée Viticole in Beaune during the early 1980s, where they shared classes with Jacques Néauport. Departing from the traditional methods of the Lapierre school, Dard and Ribo embarked on a distinctive journey when they founded their estate together in 1983. Their approach, eschewing carbonic maceration and refrigeration, marked a departure from convention. For over four decades, their unwavering dedication to innovative and unconventional practices has endured, even amidst the transformative tides of the international luxury wine market in the northern Rhône region.
