An Evening with the Robinets at Brawn

  • 49 Columbia Road London, England, E2 7RG United Kingdom (map)

On Monday 8th of April we welcome Jean-Pierre, Juliette and Noella Robinot to a Brawn for a special evening celebrating the family’s wines alongside the rich and noble cuisine of the Loire.

Jean-Pierre Robinot is a legend in the world of wine. Growing up in the small village of Jasnières in the Loire he fell in love with wine at a young age, moved to Paris, opened one of the first bistros dedicated to natural wines in the city, L’Ange Vin, and founded France’s premier journal on the topic, ‘Le Rouge et Le Blanc’.

In the early 2000s he returned to his childhood home to begin making wine. Today he works in the vines alongside his daughter Juliette, growing Chenin Blanc and Pineau d’Aunis over a complex melange of red clay, limestone and silex. Fermentations and elévage take place in the labyrinth of ancient limestone caves beneath the vines. It is a surreal space that renders wines of rare energy.

Few are as well versed in the food and wine of the Loire as Brawn’s chef Ed Wilson, who for several years ran the Green Man & French Horn, a restaurant that championed the region's historic recipes and talented vignerons. On the night, Ed will delve deep into his repertoire of classics - think pristine oysters and shellfish, rillettes and rillons, turbot & beurre blanc, bouchée à la reine, quenelles with shellfish sauce, mouclade and more.

The à la carte menu will be available throughout the evening, with the Robinots' wines available by the glass, bottle and magnum.

Tables are available from 6pm and can be booked via Brawn’swebsite

We hope you can join us for what promises to be a beautiful night.
