Clos Fantine Faugères 'Cuvée Tradition' Rouge 2022
Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre | Faugères, Languedoc, France | 14% ABV | Natural Red Wine

Immerse yourself in the wild, soulful essence of Clos Fantine Faugères 'Cuvée Tradition' Rouge 2022, a natural red wine from the schist-laden hills of Faugères, Languedoc. Crafted by siblings Carole, Corine, and Olivier Andrieu at their family-run 30-hectare estate in Cabrerolles, this blend of Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre (from 90+ year-old vines) is a vibrant testament to organic viticulture and minimal intervention.

Grown on slate soils and gobelet-pruned for resilience against the southern sun, the grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with native yeasts in concrete vats. The process includes 1/3 whole-cluster and 2/3 de-stemmed fruit, with no fining, filtration, or added sulfites. Aged for two winters in concrete, the result is a medium-bodied wine with peppery, herbaceous aromas, crunchy red and dark fruit notes (cherry, blackberry), and hints of smoke and garrigue. Its zesty acidity and balanced rusticity make it a versatile match for cassoulet, grilled lamb with rosemary, or winter veggie lasagna. Serve slightly chilled after a 30-minute decant to reveal its full depth
