Clement Magliocco

Clement Magliocco comes from a family of third-generation winemakers. His grandparents, like many Valaisan families, migrated from northern Italy.

Clement's journey began in 2016 when he purchased an old Johannisberg vineyard in Chamoson. Initially, he aimed to join his father at Cave Villa Solaris, but his plans changed when the winery ceased operations.

Vine sof Chamoson

Clément's parcel boasts old Sylvaner vines spread across six terraces that overlook the picturesque wine village of Chamoson.

The Micro plots are lovely , scattered down the stepped terraces of chamoson , some super small with just around 100 vines , tire bouchon style which is common in the valley , pruned a certain way that the vine cover decades resemble cork screws.

Clément's reputation in viticulture is well-regarded. When Marie Therese Chappaz decided to relinquish her lease on a patch of Pinot in Chamoson—a larger plot she had farmed biodynamically for the past 20 years—Clément was offered the plot and delightfully accepted.

Clement found it apparent to exclusively utilize natural products. Initially, driven by conviction, and subsequently, for personal reasons, as he was the individual investing the most time in those vineyards. Moreover, he aimed to explore and embrace this "risk" following his dedication of his diploma thesis to transitioning to organic viticulture. Each year, they conducted experiments on their vines to minimize copper usage and perpetually expand their knowledge in the field.

Clément possesses two plots of land. The initial one, located in Chamoson, boasts rows of Johannisberg vines. Renowned for this particular grape variety, Chamoson has been cultivating it since 1862. Johannisberg, also known as Sylvaner, has been marketed by Valaisans under this name since 1928. Within Valais, it stands as the second most prevalent white grape, yielding delicate and aromatic wines that age gracefully.
